You're invited to explore all that the University of Idaho has to offer with our "Invitation to Idaho" scholarship! Whether you're from across the country or around the globe, this is your invitation to embark on an exciting journey at the University of Idaho.

The value of the Invitation to Idaho scholarship at U of I for the 2024-25 academic year is nearly $16,000. That’s nearly $64,000 in value over the course of four years!

The University of Idaho extends an Invitation to Idaho to qualifying students from all states and countries except for the WUE states (see map below).

There’s no separate application or deadline for the Invitation to Idaho scholarship program. Simply complete your U of I admission application to be considered. It’s that easy! If you have already applied and been admitted to U of I, you have already been automatically considered for the Invitation to Idaho scholarship.

1 Housing and Meals expenses reflect the average costs of living on or off campus. Students who live with their parents, non-traditional students or students who have dependent children living with them have cost of attendance adjustments. Other than these situations, a student's living arrangement does not affect the cost of attendance used by Student Financial Aid Services.

2 Book and supply expenses are based on average costs for a full-time student for one academic year and will vary from one year to another.

Qualifying for Invitation to Idaho

First Time First-year Students

  • A new, first-time freshman admitted to the University of Idaho
  • Pursuing your first bachelor’s degree
  • Have an incoming GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • A resident of a non WICHE state or an international student

You Get

Invitation to Idaho for four years if you maintain continuous enrollment with a 2.5 cumulative U of I GPA.

First Time Transfer Students

  • A new, first-time transfer admitted to the University of Idaho
  • Pursuing your first bachelor’s degree
  • Have an incoming GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • A resident of a non WICHE state or an international student

You Get

Invitation to Idaho for up to four years if you maintain continuous enrollment with a 2.5 cumulative U of I GPA.

*Recipients of the award cannot simultaneously receive WUE scholarship.
