Business Economics
Answering Big Questions
Be ready for a career across a range of industries, including financial services, sports, agriculture and environmental conservation. As an economist, industry and government leaders will look to you and the data you collect to help them answer big questions. For example:
- How is the fishing industry financially affected by changes to harvest level limits?
- Are expert golfers more likely to underperform when there are large financial rewards riding on the outcome of a game?
- How sensitive is the price of beef to outside shocks like grassland availability, extreme weather or the evolving plant-based meat industry?
- How are developing countries paid for environmental damages caused by mining rare earth elements used in cell phones?
You will develop the critical thinking, analytical and research skills needed to answer these big questions with a business degree in economics from the University of Idaho.
