Food Security Coalition
The Food Security Coalition is made up of faculty, staff and students dedicated to addressing food insecurity at the University of Idaho.
Goal: Establish a food secure University of Idaho Campus.
Vision: No hungry students.
Mission: To eliminate food insecurity by increasing awareness of food insecurity among University of Idaho students, faculty, and staff; enhancing current campus resources and emergency food assistance; increasing student food access; and providing resources to increase student knowledge of food literacy.
The Food Security Coalition has created a “Supporting Food Insecure Students” workshop to provide education for our university community about food insecurity on campus, how to support food insecure students and about resources that are available on campus and in our community. To request this workshop for your department, class or group, please request a workshop.
You should file a VandalCARE Referral whenever you are concerned about a member of the campus community — including yourself. You can submit a VandalCARE Referral for concerns such as food insecurity and housing/homelessness concern, among many others.
