Be a part of the solution
Growing demand for food and fiber crops requires the need to maximize long-term sustainability of our agricultural systems and reimagine how we grow, market and transport food.
This program is designed to provide a science-based understanding of the many facets of food, from sustainable production, food chemistry and safety, to policy and human nutrition. You will explore ways to produce food while conserving natural resources such as soil and water.
Much of your education will take place outside the classroom, including the Soil Steward’s campus farm where you will produce, market, sell and distribute food. You also have the opportunity to gain knowledge of your role as food systems professionals through internships.
