Beef Projects

  • Become familiar with and apply the recommended principles of beef animal science. 
  • Gain knowledge of sound breeding, feeding and management practices. 
  • Develop integrity, sportsmanship, decision-making capabilities and public speaking skills by participation in demonstrations, tours and exhibits.

Breeding Beef

Own and care for one or more purebred or commercial heifers, cows or bulls for at least 90 days before exhibiting at the fair.

Market Beef

Raise one or more steers or heifers for market. Show and sell your animal at the county fair.

Stocker-Feeder

Manage and care for one or more beef animals during winter and/or the summer grazing period for at least 90 days.

Non-Animal Beef

Benefit from many aspects of a livestock project without actually owning the animal.
