Training Requirements
All investigators participating in or proposing to participate in a PHS-funded project or project funded by a Department of Energy financial assistance agreement (such as a grant or cooperative agreement) must complete financial conflict of interest training before engaging in the project.
PHS-funded Projects
Investigators preparing new PHS-funded proposals must complete the training prior to submission. New investigators on ongoing projects must complete the training before engaging in PHS-funded research. All investigators must complete the training every four years thereafter.
- Complete the National Institutes of Health tutorial and forward a copy of the certificate of completion to uifcoi@uidaho.edu. Please indicate the lead PI and the title of the project in the email.

DOE Financial Assistance-funded Projects
Investigators on DOE financial assistance projects must complete the training before engaging in the project. The training must be repeated at least every 4 years thereafter.
- Complete the Conflict of Interest training in CITI. View instructions on how to access CITI.
- Notify uifcoi@uidaho.edu when the training is completed. Please indicate the lead PI and the title of the project in the email.
