Amy Rakich
Amy Rakich joins the University of Idaho as an Assistant Professor of Architecture from Detroit, Michigan. She has spent much of her career oscillating between teaching architectural design and professional practice. Betweenness has given Amy perspective to develop a practice that interweaves teaching and research with a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and creative approach utilizing meaning and making as drivers to explore design strategies structured around the natural, built, and social conditions.
Amy is also passionate about developing opportunities for early exposure to spatial concepts and building critical thinking skills around how we perceive and design space and the impact it can have on others.
