The Student Recreation Center (SRC) is the premier facility for the U of I campus and community to work out and participate in recreational activities. Our facility includes locker rooms, two gymnasiums, cardio equipment, weight training equipment, a stretching hall, climbing center and group fitness classrooms. Membership includes access to the Student Rec Center, Climbing Center, and fitness classes. Additional fees may apply. See options below for access based on your University of Idaho affiliation.

Memberships may be purchased at the Information Desk inside the SRC. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. All members must have a valid VandalCard; read more below

Membership Pricing

Full-Time Students

Full-time University of Idaho students can access the SRC and Climbing Center at no additional cost. Valid VandalCard is required.

Drop-in access to unlimited group fitness classes can be added for $25 per section (there are two sections per semester).

Part-Time and Dual Enrolled Students

Part-time (undergrad students enrolled in less than 10 credits, graduate students enrolled in less than 9 credits) and dual enrolled students can purchase a Membership (includes access to SRC and Climbing Center) at the following rates:

Board Appointed U of I Employees (Spouses Eligible at Employee Rate)

University of Idaho employees with a permanent position approved by the Idaho State Board of Regents (Classified or Exempt Faculty, Staff and Post Docs) and their spouses are eligible for payroll deduction memberships. Registration must be completed at the SRC Information Desk, and spouse memberships require both the employee and spouse to be present during registration. Payroll deduction memberships will expire two years after initial registration unless a cancellation is requested prior to the expiration date.

Non-board appointed employees and their spouses
- Employees receiving a paycheck directly from University of Idaho, but not eligible for payroll deduction (see "Board Appointed Employees" above for more information)
Campus partners and their spouses
- Employees who work for an organization that conducts work on the Moscow campus (i.e. McKinstry, Chartwells/Idaho Eats, etc.)
U of I Emeritus faculty and their spouses

Public memberships are available to anyone not currently a U of I student or employee. Patrons must be at least 18 years old to purchase and use a SRC Membership.

Youth Climbing Passes

Youth climbing passes do not include access to the SRC or group fitness classes. Youth are defined as being under 18 years of age; all youth must be always accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to enter and use the Climbing Center.

Climbing Access

A basic skills check is required for all Climbing Center users on an annual basis. Skills checks include tying a figure 8 follow-through knot, using a manual breaking belay device, and proper belay commands. If all skills cannot be demonstrated properly a Basics Clinic will be required prior to using the Climbing Center.
Shoe and harness rentals are available at additional cost.

Group Fitness Access

All group fitness classes are first-come, first served.
Access to classes after they start is not permitted.
Saving space or equipment for participants who are not present is not permitted.
No refunds will be provided for postponed or cancelled classes.

Refund Policy

Memberships cannot be transferred.
Refunds and extensions are not provided for occasions in which any or all RecWell facilities are closed due to, but not limited to weather events, campus closures and/or holidays.
No refunds will be provided for postponed or cancelled group fitness classes.
Memberships may be extended under select circumstances for preplanned events including extended holiday break closures and maintenance closures.
RecWell reserves all rights to determine when or if extensions are applied.
