Connecting U & I 5k
Join us for the Connecting U & I 5k for suicide awareness!
Suicide Awareness Week culminates in a 5k fun walk and run to help raise awareness around suicide prevention and resilience building. Participants have the option of a 5k (3.1 mile route PDF) run or 2k (1.3 mile route PDF) walk route around campus starting and ending at the Student Rec Center (SRC).
When: Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.
Where: Routes begin at the Student Rec Center
Cost: Free
Registration: Pre-registration is now closed. Day of registration is available between 9:30-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 on the SRC Lawn.
Inclement Weather: If inclement weather leads to event cancellation, participants will receive an email notification by 9 a.m., Sept. 14.
Event Information
The 5k starts 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Student Rec Center.
A few reminders about the event:
- Parking is available in the orange lot across the street (crossing Line St.) east of the SRC.
- We will not have a place for you to store any personal belongings.
- You will need to sign a waiver if you have not already done so. This is a part of the advance registration process.
- Please stay on the sidewalks and campus roadways.
- University policy does not allow pets at this event.
*If inclement weather leads to event cancellation, participants will receive an email notification by 9 a.m., Sept. 16.
