Jessica McKinlay joins the College of Law to teach business and commercial law courses. Professor McKinlay has been practicing law for fourteen years, and she is licensed in all state and federal courts in Utah, Nevada, and California, and in the Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals. Her legal experience includes all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency law, the formation and financing of emerging companies, estate planning, commercial litigation, and general advice and planning. Professor McKinlay clerked for Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Christine M. Durham. Professor McKinlay’s research interests are broad and include, but are not limited to, assignments for the benefit of creditors, cryptocurrency, block chain, stock trading, oil and gas depletion and pooling agreements, access to justice, and bankruptcy reform.
