Vanessa Montoya

Ms. Montoya worked most recently as a staff attorney for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project NWIRP) in Granger, Washington, where she represented people in various affirmative and defensive immigration petitions and proceedings, specifically those seeking immigration relief as survivors of crime. Ms. Montoya also conducted numerous presentations and trainings to other social service organizations and legal providers across eastern Washington. Between degrees, Ms. Montoya served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest as a legal assistant. She continued her commitment to public service during her time at the College of Law, receiving the Above and Beyond Award for her significant pro bono work. While in law school, Ms. Montoya was also recognized for her devotion to inclusion, as the inaugural student winner of the Diversity and Human Rights Award. Ms. Montoya received her J.D. from the University of Idaho and her bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University.
