Tips for Parents of Admitted Students
We appreciate your involvement in your student's journey to the University of Idaho! As a parent, you play a vital role in supporting your child's success. Here are some resources to help you navigate this exciting time:
- Admitted to do list: This comprehensive list outlines everything your student needs to accomplish before their first day. It covers essential steps like setting up their Vandal accounts, filing their FAFSA for financial aid, confirming on-campus housing, and more.
- Dates and deadlines: Help your student stay on track of important dates and deadlines.
- Find your Admissions Counselor: No question is too big or too small! The University of Idaho has a dedicated team of admissions counselors. You can find your counselor to get personalized assistance and support throughout the application process.
- Financial Aid Resources: Questions about FAFSA, scholarships or cost of attendance? Connect with our financial aid team.

Visit us in Moscow
We love when parents and families visit us in Moscow. Whether you are the parent of a student that’s interested in University of Idaho, admitted or a current student, we’ve got tips for planning your visit.
- Schedule a campus visit or specialty campus event: If your student is considering the University of Idaho, visit for a daily campus visit or other campus visit event to experience what it’s like to be a Vandal.
- Attend Family & Supporter Orientation: If your student is already admitted to U of I, make sure to register for New Student Orientation. Parents are invited to learn about the campus resources and systems in place to best support your student during their time at UIdaho.
- Mark Your Calendar for Parent & Family Weekend: If you’re a parent to a current student, join us for a weekend full of activities and opportunities to connect with the university community. Learn more about Parent & Family Weekend.

Campus Resources for Current Students
Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC)
Our CMHC psychologists and mental health practitioners offer a wide range of counseling services tailored to student needs. Have your student reach out for an appointment by calling 208-885-6716.
Safe Walk
Our Campus Safety & Security Team provides Safe Walk and Safe Ride services for students, employees, and visitors. For assistance, simply call 1-208-885-SAFE (7233).
VandalCARE
We care about student success and well-being. VandalCARE is our campus reporting system for anyone who may be in distress. After a report is submitted, our CARE team will provide support and coordinate care.
