NKN is a research computing and data management support unit, providing infrastructure and expertise to support data-intensive research. We develop databases, data-rich websites, data visualization tools, web/mobile applications, and other research informatics systems. NKN also provides consulting services that enable researchers to more effectively acquire, manage, document, and share data. In addition to now offering UAS (drone) flights and aerial data acquisition and processing services, NKN provides high-performance storage, computing, and networking infrastructure to enable and support multidisciplinary research projects.

The IBEST Computational Resources Core (CRC) serves as the computational backbone for a variety of disciplines at the University of Idaho. It provides investigators with state of the art high performance computing and large data storage capacity for use in analyzing and managing large volumes of research data. Users of the core run jobs that may use hundreds of processors in parallel or large memory allocations and may run require weeks to complete. The CRC is explicitly designed to manage the complex computational and storage requirements for U of I researchers and core facilities with very high data reliability and availability.
